CSF will conduct a mixed-method needs analysis to identify training gaps and priorities among mandated reporters, with attention to child advocacy principles, children exposed to violence, and nondiscrimination obligations. The analysis will include:
Document Review: Analysis of state and federal statutes, agency training standards, and professional codes related to child maltreatment reporting.
Practitioner Survey: Collection of data from frontline professionals (e.g., educators, healthcare providers, law enforcement) to assess confidence, knowledge gaps, and procedural barriers.
Stakeholder Interviews: Structured discussions with subject matter experts from child advocacy centers, CPS, and higher education to capture qualitative insights.
Access Review: Evaluation of how existing trainings address (or fail to address) nondiscrimination and trauma exposure in reporting decisions.
Findings will inform content development, ensuring the training reflects statutory mandates, best practices, and real-world reporting challenges.
