Priorities
CSF’s work toward building an ecosystem of safety for all children centers on seven core priorities. This list will continue to evolve as our work deepens.
Protect Children in the United States
Advance consistent, data-informed systems that ensure every report of child abuse or neglect receives timely, accurate, and appropriate action. CSF supports this through standardized mandated reporter training and tools that strengthen coordination between education, healthcare, and child protection systems.
Combat Violent Crime
Reduce violence against children through improved identification, intervention, and cross-sector coordination. By equipping professionals to recognize high-risk patterns and report effectively, CSF helps prevent escalation and supports safer investigative outcomes.
Support Law Enforcement and Protection Agencies
Equip law enforcement and child protection professionals with shared frameworks for assessing child safety and reporting accurately. Our initiatives bridge the communication gap between agencies, leading to stronger case documentation and better outcomes for vulnerable children.
Enhance Community Engagement
Shift child protection from an institutional process to a shared community mission. CSF builds partnerships across sectors to foster awareness, collaboration, and collective responsibility for child safety.
Provide Targeted Training
Deliver practical, evidence-based instruction on recognizing, documenting, and reporting child abuse and neglect. Training materials are designed to be accessible, engaging, and grounded in real-world practice.
Eliminate Personal Bias in Reporting
Mitigate unconscious bias and subjective assumptions that lead to over- or under-reporting, especially in marginalized communities. CSF promotes data-driven reporting standards that prioritize fairness and child safety.
Eliminate Screening Out of Valid Concerns
Improve the accuracy and completeness of child protection referrals so that valid concerns are not dismissed or lost in the system. Our approach strengthens information flow between reporters and child protection agencies, ensuring that every credible report receives appropriate review.
