Our work began within the Oklahoma child welfare system and has evolved into a national strategy to strengthen how professionals recognize and report child maltreatment. Each phase of progress reflects applied experience and evidence-based development, ensuring that CSF’s growth remains grounded in both data and practice.

Field Research

Conducted within the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS), this phase established CSF’s foundation. Through immersive frontline work, we analyzed 1,703 child abuse reports, identified systemic barriers to accurate reporting, and documented the need for standardized, evidence-informed training.

Strategy Design

Drew upon findings from our field research to design the Standardized Mandated Reporter Training Framework—a multimedia, scenario-based education model to address reporting gaps and support statewide professional development.

April 2025

Formalization

Sought fiscal sponsorship to begin early operations, then pivoted to register as a 501(c)(3) organization to ensure long-term sustainability and direct accountability. Established CSF’s founding board and organizational identity.

May 2025

Legalization

Completed all legal documentation to formalize CSF as a registered nonprofit, onboarded two additional board members, and submitted incorporation and IRS filings to obtain 501(c)(3) status.

June 2025
