Board Meeting
AGENDA
The Board will convene to review the designed Mandated Reporter Journal (MRJ) and determine whether it is ready for distribution and marketing. The journal has cleared two preliminary reviews and will be presented to Board Member Ty Holley, a creative strategist. The Board will be asked to focus only on requesting edits for critical issues so that the journal can move forward through its distribution channel.

In this meeting, the MRJ's physical design and content were critiqued, with focus on branding strategy, and the plan to transition the product to a digital, subscription-based application that will be managed and implemented by a strategic partner.
Mandated Reporter Journal Critique The team agreed that the MRJ requires comprehensive training materials to explain key terminology and a clear structural division between the ‘how-to’ guide and the forms. The physical journal is being produced via Lulu.com at a $49 price point for the K-5 teacher market, which has no direct competitors.
Branding and Visual Identity The team decided the Child Safety Initiative is the appropriate front-facing brand for community interaction and training, while the Child Safety Fund remains the nonprofit partner. A new brand identity, including a lock-up logo and visual elements, is needed to guide swag creation and provide a recognizable identity.
Market and Distribution Strategy The initial target market was confirmed as K through 5 teachers due to higher ambiguity in reporting, with daycare directors as a secondary target market. Shopify will be used as the e-commerce platform for selling the physical journals, which are intended to evolve into a technology solution with recurring revenue.
